We have a little girl. Her name is Shamala.
Friday Keith and I landed free tickets to Caedmon's Call in Dallas. We sat on the 3rd row and it was wonderful. They do a lot of ministry with India, so we adopted a little girl from Bangalore, India. She is a Dalit, which is one of the poorest people groups in India. Some parts of India don't even consider the Dalits people. The Dalit children have to sit on the dirt floor while the other children get a great education. Caedmon's Call set up a school for these children. Her name is Shamala and her mother is a maid. Her dad left them for another woman and they live in a shack. Keith and I are paying for her to have a good education and something to eat everyday. Bangalore is 12 hours ahead of us...so sweet Shamala is just getting up in the morning to go to school right now. She is ten years old and is in the 4th grade. We decided to do this rather than getting a puppy for the time being. We really want to get a puppy, but we are not ready, and we figure this would be lots better in light of eternity.
