Oh sweet little buddy of mine
You are so cute
This was taken right before
You had to take a time out
Such is the life of a toddler

Letter

Dear A,

Sunday night I dropped you off at the church nursery.  During the flurry of making you a name tag, putting your bag up, handing you your juice, and making sure the door was locked you looked up at me with tears in your eyes.  Your mouth was pouty.  You reached up for me.  You didn't want me to leave.  If the trustworthy little lady didn't wisk you away about to feed you Bugles, I probably would've taken you with me.  I love you little, Buddy.  You will always be mine.

I love you,
Mama

22 Months

Hey Baby Boy,

You are 22 Months Old!!  You are 2 months away from being 2.  That makes your mama crazy.  You are such a big boy now.  You weigh 28 pounds.  You are tall and skinny.  You wear 2T shirts and 18 month shorts and size 7 shoe.  You are constantly on the go.  You like to give hugs.  You are getting better at saying words.  When you get excited and start laughing you say, "Oh me." afterwards.  It's so cute.  You are doing great at playing in the pool.  This past weekend you put half of your face in the water holding your breath.  You like to watch Curious George, Super Why, and The Dinosaur Train.  We watch the Fresh Beat Band sometimes, too.  I have been home with you since June 2011 and then a few months later we moved to AL.  It's been a challenge, but I think you and I are really enjoying each other.  When we pray before bed you say 'Amen' after me.  I love you Buddy.  Here's to Month 23!

About A

You will be 21 months on May 21st.

You  do not like to sit in a high chair which makes going out to eat hard.
I think we are taking a break from eating out.
You will not sit still nor do you know 'inside voice' yet.

You don't like running water in the bathtub.

We ask you if you want something and you usually shake your head no.

You have gotten more bumps, scrapes and bruises this month than in your entire life.
Ex:  Within a couple of days you climbed out of your pack n play at the beach which resulted in a huge goose egg on the middle of your forehead and you scraped your knee running down the ramp at the library.  Let's not talk about the bandaide situation.

Boys will be boys.

On a better note you are giving lots of hugs which makes up for all the other stuff in our life.

19 months

Dear A,

You turned 19 months old during Spring Break last week - March 21, 2012.

  • You are one smart boy and we love you SO much!
  • You are copying a lot of things we do.
  • You can say Mama, Dada, Lecee, Pepaw, Moon, Moo, Ow, Owee, Mine, BallBall, and sign milk, more, and please.
  • You are getting more demanding and impatient.  We went to the park today and you didn't like it when I held your hand when we went to the look at the ditch.
  • Lecee held you in her lap yesterday and your legs look like they could reach the floor.
  • You like to play with Wellington and Khoe.  Wellington likes to play with you.
  • You are wearing 2T pajamas, 18m. shirts & shorts, and 24 month shirts & shortalls.  Your waste is so skinny we have to roll your pants at the waste.
  • We got you a slam dunk net with a plastic basketball for your room.  You could play with it for hours, but you would like us to be in there to watch.
  • I color with you, but it only lasts for a few minutes.  You will gently glide the crayon over the paper so you can barely see it.  When you are done you throw the crayon and sometimes crumple up the paper.
  • During the week we usually go to the ROC so you can run around the gym and play BallBall.
You will back up to your Dad or me so we can lift you up and you will shoot the ball.  You do the same thing when you want us to read you a book.
  • You like to take off your shoes in the car then throw them as you do most things.
  • You don't like to sit still for very long. I am learning how to eat fast when we go out to eat.
  • You are still taller than most of your friends at school and church.
  • You threw a ball last night and it took me and you Dad by surprise.  We were imagining you a 6'3" baseball pitcher with that curve ball you threw and hit the wall.  Sheesh.
  • Happy 19 Months Little Man.  This is going to be a great month!

The one where we have an 11 hour day.

K's gone from 8-7 today and no Mother's Morning Out due to President's Day..Yay!

8a.m. in the high chair in the kitchen eating breakfast while Mom unloads, loads dishes and makes coffee - all smiles - with my San Antonio, Texas shirt on!

9a.m. Watching Super Why Guy on Sprout and playing in my exersaucer

10a.m. playing in his room - This is his Valentine's Puppy from G & Lecee.  It sings and it's ears go up and down!

11a.m. playing at the ROC - he likes to watch if there is anyone playing basketball.  He also likes to get the basketballs and bounce them.  He is pretty much done here playing on the bleachers.

12p.m. Eating at Longhorn with G & Lecee - Thankfully, A usually does well in restaurants.  When it gets close to his nap time like today, he gets a little rowdy.  He squealed a few times, but today was a good day. Thanks for lunch, G!

1p.m. Time to sit down and fold laundry while Little Man is sleeping
Did I mention I haven't had a Dr. Pepper in 3 days? Go me.
2p.m. Take a shower. Do more laundry.
3 & 4p.m. A wakes up, plays, has a snack
5p.m. Walmart Run for fruit, veggies, yogurt & cereal

6p.m. Hanging out with Wells and A before I fix dinner. Thanks Aunt Dar for the lamp!
7p.m. Dad's home and tickling has begun!  What a long day! I had fun with you, Little A! I'm going to bed!

The one about the crumbs.

Dear A,

It's summer and I am having so much fun hanging out with you!! We went to church today and you stayed in the nursery. We always wish you were with us, but we think you would be too loud in the sanctuary and I'm sure you like to play with your friends at church. Your teacher said the other babies were crying and they looked over at you and your lip was quivering. She said, "Oh no! Not you A, your the content one! Please don't start!" They fed you a bottle and you went to sleep. We went to check on you after Small Group and you were passed out in the crib. They say you are the sweetest baby every Sunday.
We went to Schlotzsky's for lunch and you wanted to grab everything on the table. Your dad finished his chips and he gave the bag to you. You dumped all of the little orange crumbs onto the table and started to get each one with your pointer finger. You were very focused and the table was clean when you finished! Great job!
Any day now you are going to start crawling forward. You can go in almost every direction now. We love you little guy!!

The one about him.

Dear A,

You are almost 9 months old. This time last year my belly was large and you were kicking and moving around in my stomach. It was so much fun. Today we all went to the grocery store and you sat in the buggy. You like to grab things on the side. Your dad gave you a bag of chips to play with and now I'm sure they are all crushed to pieces. :) I looked at you in the buggy and could see a lot of me in your face. You are silly like your daddy, though. You crack yourself up a lot. We can hear you laughing in the backseat, in your stroller and exersaucer. Your laugh is one of the best parts of my day. We are so glad you are ours.
