Atlanta

This weekend wasn't all that great.
I went to a marriage conference with my spouse who is about 5% into our marriage.
It was hard to watch other couples in love.
It was hard listening to what a great marriage looks like when you aren't sure of your future.

On a brighter note
We ate at Jason's Deli Saturday night

We both got California Clubs with fruit & fruit dip.
It was yummy!

And it was good to come home to my buddy.
Who had a great weekend at the beach
And has recovered from Strep. Wahoo!

Sickness Prayer and Lots of It

Well Austin has Strep Throat, but the good thing is he's on the tail end of it - High fever Sun-Weds. then a rash today.  Antibiotics should kick it soon.  He's such a sweet boy.

We are heading out soon to The Weekend to Remember Conference.  It'll be at a nice hotel in a big city just praying God works a miracle.

I went with my friend Angela to hear Chonda Pierce last night.  She was great!  We went to the lady's room at the very end and it happened to be where Chonda was taking pictures.  I was 3rd in line!

Well Well

We thought we were on the upswing of sickness then I got a call Monday that Austin got sick during naptime.  I picked him up and called the dr.  Austin was hungry, but looked pale.  We came home, ate, watched A Horton Hears A Who, then went to the dr. 

He's fine.

Just like his Mama, sometimes our tummies do not like hotdogs.  Lay off the hotdogs.



Here he is today ready to go to school!
We called G this morning and sang happy birthday.
All is well.

Fever free Saturday!

Austin didn't take a nap at school Wednesday so he went to bed at 7:30p.m.  He woke up at 8:10 the next morning (which is late!) with a fever and missed his Easter egg hunt and party at school, but we had a good time at home.

He has been fever free since Friday morning and has found a new love for sidewalk chalk.  He always draws or colors in straight lines.





You can see the patches of straight lines that turn into one big color blob.  It doesn't end with the driveway.  He has drawn on his zebra and the flower pots and the front porch.  This is why we don't have a chalkboard in the house. :)

We are loving the weather and loving being outside.  If only we can teach him to stay out of the street.  We went this morning to get flowers at Home Depot.  After I put him in the cart I thought, "How am I going to do this?"  Every flower I wanted to get he said, "I want to hold it."  We came home with flowers and vegetables and soil all in one piece.

Well...

I am 8 weeks pregnant tomorrow.
I have to say this one is completely different than with Austin.
I'm not sure how I could teach 850 students with the kind of nausea I have right now.
I am very thankful for Keith & that he works hard for us.
I am thankful for my mom who got me out of the house today and brought over groceries.

We are trying our hardest to potty train Austin.
He's trying his hardest to not tee tee or poo poo in the potty lately.

It will come.
Every morning when we are walking to school I say,
"When you can tee tee in the potty you can go to the big school for PreSchool."

My dr. called in Zofran for me today.
I'm going to take my first half pill this afternoon.
I hope it doesn't make me feel weird.
I hope it takes away the terrible nausea I have.

One week and we will have an ultrasound!

4 of Austin's classmates were out yesterday with the stomach virus.

Please PLEASE PLEASE pray he will not get it and we will not get it!

Fever Bugz

Ever used them?

 

I got these and a forhead thermometer at Walgreens this week.

 

I am thankful I got fever bugz because the forehead therm. didn't work and the bugz did. 

 

They're stickers that you put on their forehead and can stay there for 48 hrs. to check their temp.

 

No fever!  Whoop!

 

And Austin never even touched it. Ever.

After school today

This morning A had a late start to school

He is SO snotty

I wanted to KNOW if he was feeling well

So we waited a couple of hours this morning

Before going to school

When I picked him up

We went to the library

Played with the train, dinosaur, looked at books, puzzles

and this thing.

He is getting so big

Sitting at the table able to concentrate on a puzzle.

Sunday

K's having trouble falling and staying asleep. Please say a prayer for him.

This morning Austin & I got up and had breakfast.
We watched cartoons.
We read books.
We picked up air filters at Home Depot.
We ran around at the park
We went to church.

Go here & listen to the message.  It was a great one today.

Austin made a picture at church.  He gave it to me as we were walking out and he said, "Blue. Heart!" He described his picture!
We had soup for lunch.
Now the boys are taking a nap.

Monday

Spent 2 hours at the doctor this morning...

Ears are clear
Little Man has got his flu shot

Waited 45 min. in the waiting room then got called back.  Was about to pull out my hair...you can only look at goldfish and point at babies for only so long until the 2 year old goes crazy...and then Mama goes crazy.

Thankful for the puzzles in the little room.
Thankful for clear ears.
Thankful he was so happy to go to school.

Saturday

Sitting here early (6ish a.m.) stuffed up and blowing my nose watching The Fresh Beat Band with my buddy while he eats a banana and drinks milk and I drink vanilla coffee.

Looking forward to the parade later this morning.

Tuesday

We are tired today.
K's air conditioning is not working in his building.
He is coughing and congested so it works that his classes are short today.
A & I played this morning.
We ran some errands:
       Recycling, clothes to thrift store, library
We went to PetSmart & Old Navy
I wanted to buy some shorts but I didn't.  Maybe tomorrow.
Now it's lunch & A's favorite movie Brer Rabbit.

We had to tie them to the wheel barrow because they were so top heavy.

A Class in Migraines

Over two years ago I started getting what I thought where weird floaters in my eye.  They would be gone in 30 minutes, then I would have a headache.

Some headaches were small some HURT.
Like early this morning.
Wake me up at 4:30a.m. hurt.

My symptoms were the same as most people who have migraines:

1. aura (floater)
2. sharp pain above eye
3. pain bending over
4. nausea

Thankfully, they are not frequent and usually come with stress.

Fog.

A woke up this morning in a fog.

Literally.

Let's just say that his new humidifier works REALLY well.

And in other news, My Grandmother is in Heaven!

Hoorray for her! She is reunited with her husband, and Jesus!

No more breathing treatments!  No more pain!

Just some pain for us now.  Boo.

Hello.

A has a nasty cough and is congested.

K is not answering his phone.

My grandmother is sick, in the hospital and will meet Jesus very soon.

Just a great afternoon all around, people.

About us.

1. A slept over at his Lecee & G's house last night. 

2. This morning he had sick eyes.

3. We went to Sam's and PetSmart with Lecee this morning.

4. It wore A out and he took a nap in his Elmo PJ's.

5. A woke up and we took 2 boxes to the thrift store and bought A an Elmo chair which needs to be washed.

6. Camp ROC was not so good today.  There was a major meltdown meaning T had to go home.  Sheesh.

7. Dinner was great. We ate outside on our back deck for the first time - we lit candles, moved the high chair out & had spinach salad with tomatoes, avacados, and italian dressing & Annie's mac & cheese. 

8. A likes avacado and mac & cheese.

9. We went to the library after dinner and I got a Nicholas Sparks book & K got one about Judo. We saw pictures of the new libraries they will build soon. Yay!

10. Little Man was tired.  He had an oozing nose and eye so he got a shower, pj's and early bed with the humidifier going.  Dr. for him tomorrow.

This weekend Christina Kirkland taught me how to paint a reindeer.  So cute!

Today A-man is 15 months

He got to celebrate by going to the dr.

He got his 2nd flu shot and a check up

Then he got to play at school

Now he's taking a nap so he can play more!
