Thursday & Friday

 

Thursday I went to MOPS - (Mothers of Preschoolers) from 930-1130.
We had a Spa Day with manicures, massages, make up, and good food.
Everyone also left with a prize.  I wanted to put all my tickets in the maid service, but I could only put one ticket in there.
I won 3 hours of babysitting & $20 to Moe's.  Not bad!
They fixed us a to-go lunch and I ate that later because I was so full from the breakfast they gave us.
I cleaned out my car and moved Austin's carseat to the side to make it easier to put him in.  He's 32 pounds so I needed to make it easier for both of us.

K had honor society induction Thurs. night so Austin and I had a ChickFilA picnic at home, played, had a bath, watched Mater and went to bed.  They're fruit cup was tasty!


This morning (Fri) Austin got up early.  I changed his diaper and put him in bed with us.  I think he fell asleep for about 10 minutes then we were up getting ready and eating breakfast.  K is working on taxes and playing golf with my dad.  I am working on scheduling Smudges for most of April and part of May.  I have 5 schools where I teach an art lesson to the 3rd grade classes.

We are excited about seeing my brother and his family this weekend.  We are celebrating Savy's 4th birthday and my cousin's wedding Saturday.

Monday

Well.

I went to my regular dr. today and got more bloodwork done for my thyroid.  He said he will either up my medicine or not.  I'll find out tomorrow.  They had to up my medicine when I was pregnant with Austin.

Zofran is helping but nausea is still there.  Nothing sounds good, not craving anything.  When something sounds good I'll eat it and trying to eat all throughout the day.

We have an ultrasound Thursday and can't wait to post a pic of it to show you.

We had chicken pot pie for dinner tonight.

Austin took an itty bitty nap today and does not want to go to bed tonight.  What's up with that?  Time change?

Tuesday

Someone went to sleep late last night and

Someone woke up early this morning

I think he had a bad dream.

What could I do but get in bed with him

And hope we could both go back to sleep.

But sleep didn't come

It was time to get our day started

Lazy Girl's Stuffed Shells

I made this recipe tonight.

Instead of ravioli I used stuffed shells.

I also used ground turkey.

Served it with broccoli and it was good!

**After school Austin was T.I.R.E.D.  He cried all the way home.  I put him in pajamas and we watched George.  Apparently he didn't nap well - his teachers said he was restless.  Early bed time for him!

What We Do After School

I don't know how long Austin will be in daycare.  We're still working that one out.  I am kind of excited about giving staying at home another try.

 I saw this on another blog and to avoid watching a movie every afternoon I have thought of some things we can do together.  Here's my list:

Art - painting, playdough, color
Movie - watch a movie together
Book  - read special books from library or from home
Cook - make something together
Treat - go get frozen yogurt together

Key is being together, learning, and having a good time.
This week A helped me make M&M cookies.  He liked scooping out sugar into the mixing bowl.
Today we are going to paint with our .25 watercolors and use those for Valentines.

This gives him something to look foward to as well.  As we are driving to school I'll say, "Austin this afternoon we can paint (or make cookies or go get some ice cream or go to the playground)!  Do you want to paint this afternoon?"  And A will say, "Yes!"

I am hoping these little moments will create memories for Austin.  Keith's mom always took him to get a Dr. Pepper after school.  It was that one thing they did together.

Last night Austin was eating grapes and Chobani Champions Yogurt.  He wanted more grapes, pointed to his tray and said "More."  Then I said, "You want more grapes?"  Then Austin said, "Please." (Pees)  First time he's said please without me prompting him.  He's learning! Cutie!

Last Day of 2012

We took the rental car back this morning.
It was a grey Hyundai Sonata and K liked driving it.  It was fast & it had a cool radio.
We took A to school.  He had a big smile and a "Hey!" for his teacher.  Love that boy :)
Operation clean the house has begun here for me.
K is happily playing golf for free since he won that tournament a few months ago.
And I think I have Austin's cold.

Saturday - spaghetti with asparagus (microwave in the bag from Publix)
Monday - chicken marsala, carrots (microwave in the bag from Publix), garlic breadsticks
Tuesday - mac&cheese with broccoli, corn/tom/okra, baked beans
Wednesday - K had leftover Salmon salad from Longhorn & I had Banana Nut Crunch cereal
Thursday - K & I went out to eat - Pizza Hut
Friday - K picked up Taco Bell on his way home from playing golf.
Saturday - K picked up Atlanta Bread's California Avacado sandwich for us.  Yum!

I am teaching Smudges this week at Hidden Lake Elementary.
I am also subbing for a high school art class.  Pray for me on Tuesday!  I've never taught high school.  I'm keeping an open mind.

Monday

I can now see the bottom of my closet.
I have a trash bag full of stuff to donate to The Rescue Mission.
The dog is clean.
Little Buddy slept great while it rained today.

I used my Mother's Morning Out time to take my mom's sick cat to the vet because I know she would do it for me.  I did move a few chairs down when the Pit Bull Mix came into the room.  The man asked me why and I said something about his dog having a big head....that it could bite my foot off and have our sick cat for dessert.  I enjoyed listening to the old ladies talk about their chihuahua's heart problems.

Hubby's Lunch Day 2

I had a whirlwind morning taking care of our dogs.  Since we've moved to AL our relationship with our dogs has been different.  Now A is thrown into the mix, we're in a different house, etc...we're trying to get back to our family of 5.  Whew. 

And then someone woke up from his nap way too EARLY:

So I made a palet for him and he's watching a movie.

This week

This week I'm going to pack hubby's lunch everyday with snacks and breakfast thrown in.  He's the kind of guy that would eat it all before lunch so I'm hoping that won't happen because he's there pretty late.  He had a full bag this morning.  Here's what I packed:

• Watermelon chunks
• Chobani blueberry yogurt
• Chicken noodle soup
• Trail Mix: m&m's, pretzels, yogurt raisins, almonds
• Pnut butter crackers

A and I are also trying to cut the TV watching and read more books, practice letters and numbers, etc.

Banana Nut Muffins

See the picture of my Dottie?  She was cooking spaghetti when I took her picture.

I made these Monday and they were gone by Wednesday.

Yum.

 

Here's the recipe:

1 cup white flour

.5 cup whole wheat flour

1tsp. baking powder

1tsp. baking soda

3/4 c. or less brown sugar

2 ripe bananas

1/4 c. oil or applesauce - I used both

1/4 tsp. vanilla

2T. flaxseed meal (fiber)

1/3 c. oats
I slipped some pecans in a few as hubby is not a fan.
Dash of cinnamon in the batter and on top.

I made blueberry muffins this morning with the same recipe but changed a few things.
I used only applesauce, no oil.
I used 1 cup wheat flour and .5cup white.
Hubby likes to say, "They taste healthy."  But tasty too.
Austin helped me, too.  That was fun!

Since we are talking about food:
Austin ate a huge lunch!  We split Mama Rosa's breadsticks and I think he ate half.
Little Man is growing! So glad his appetite is, too.


Tuesday

We are tired today.
K's air conditioning is not working in his building.
He is coughing and congested so it works that his classes are short today.
A & I played this morning.
We ran some errands:
       Recycling, clothes to thrift store, library
We went to PetSmart & Old Navy
I wanted to buy some shorts but I didn't.  Maybe tomorrow.
Now it's lunch & A's favorite movie Brer Rabbit.

Monday Morning

A woke up at 7:30a.m.. this morning.
We changed diapers and out of pajamas
Cartoons, milk, banana
Coffee made & lunch packed
We talked about school today
We talked about being a sweet boy
We talked about the big truck next to us on the way to school
We prayed for our day and our friends starting school in Dallas.
We put shoes & socks on in car (he won't leave them on for the ride)
We walked into his classroom
Tears
Hopefully only for a few minutes
Because I know snack is very soon
And he usually loves snack


A had a "great day" at school!
And a 'good day' at church yesterday!
