I put simple sentences so he can start reading with us and recognize loved ones in the pictures.
Thanks Walgreens!

Thursday

A & I tried to go to the $2 movie today, but Holy Moly at the people and kids.  How to Train Your Dragon was showing, we have already watched it with A, and he liked it.  We got there 10 minutes early and there were about 100 people waiting to get in.  We'll try again next week.

We drove to the library, A played happily with the train and we checked out two new board books.  That's more our style anyway.

When bigger kids (train hogs) got to the library we decided to leave and go see whats going on at the ROC.  They are having winshape camp there right now.  We watched from the top of the gym and it was sensory overload but A sat in my lap and watched for 30 minutes. They had 10 stations and everybody was going everywhere, playing all kinds of games, flashing lights, you name it.

We got home and had lunch - fixed a smoothie and chicken nuggets, but A didn't want the chicken.  He also had some pnut butter and milk.

Little Man went down for a nap and I have been looking at the Pioneer Woman cookbook from the library.  I think I might make chicken parmesean soon.

Makes me hungry just thinking about it!

Here's Little Man after his long nap!

The Potluck Club

Product Details
I just finished this book.  You can find it here.
The Potluck Club by Linda Evans Shepherd and Eva Marie Everson
It's another book about a group of ladies meeting together.
There's a theme here in all these books I've been reading this summer.
Maybe I need to start a ladies club - I miss my group of friends.
Could that be my theme for this year?  Start every sentence with "I miss..."
Or "The year of frustration".  This too shall pass.  It will get better.
On to the book...
It was fun and funny and I loved reading it!

I went to the library this morning and got another one of her books!

I have a lot of things on my mind these days with applying for jobs, mostly about the future.  This is a great way to stop thinking about all of that by diving into a book.

Good Night Gorilla

A really loves this book.

He was looking at it today in his high chair as I was making tacos for dinner.

I asked him to point to the gorilla.

He did.

I asked him to point to the giraffe.

He did!

I asked him to point to the elephant.

He did!

Smart boy!

Good Night, Gorilla
You can find it here.

Thank you Grandma Mac for this book!

Stand By Me

Before I read Saturday Morning I read:

Stand by Me (A SouledOut Sisters Novel)

You can find it here.
It's about a group of college students in Chicago who start going to a church
called Souled Out and all the drama thats involved with that.

Saturday Morning

I just finished this book.

It was really good.

Saturday Morning

I didn't read the Kindle Edition.

A lap & a book

We thought we were going to Troy Saturday morning just to go somewhere new, but we chickened out and went downtown to the farmer's market instead.  We met a couple who just moved here from Austin and got their number.  We walked over to the art museum and let A play in their basement.  We walked back and found this couple.  Looks like they would have some great conversations!

Got the DVD from our library and we are going to watch it tonight. sometime soon.

Tomorrow we are cooking out with friends.
Maybe going on a walk early before it gets hot.
Scrambled eggs might be in our future.

Sunday one of our friends is teaching our Life Connection Class.
No plans after that...

What I'm Reading

What I've been reading lately:

Ron Clark's No More Molasses Classes - keeps me inspired to keep being a great teacher even though I'm not getting paid for it.

You can see his website here.  He has started a school in Atlanta, GA.

I always love getting this magazine in the mail.

K got me Message In a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks so that's the one I'm reading next.
