It's new...

Yesterday I was down in the dumps because I have been looking for a job a long time and was tired of it. I have been accepted into the teacher certification program this summer and that starts in May. 95% of the students in the program are garaunteed a job in August. Keith and I are hoping that will be me. In the mean time...what to do, what to do. I have looked into substitute teaching to get experience in the classroom, but it's too late in the school year to do that. Looks like I will have to observe. There are lots of day care jobs, but, do I really want to work in a day care? I'm creative...not really wanting to sit behind a desk and be somebody's receptionist or administrative assistant. I have found that there are a lot of scrapbook stores around here. These stores are full of creative stuff just waiting on you to create something! Perfect! Today I went around to scrapbook stores in the area, browsed, and asked if they were hiring. On to store #3...ding, ding, ding. Right answer..."yes, we are hiring. can you start tonight?"

This is a new experience for me. I have never really worked outside of the church until now. I don't know the people I work with and I don't even know if they are Christians. I don't know how to work a cash register, but tomorrow I will soon learn. The Lord has given me confidence to do anything...thank the good Lord Jesus.

i must say i am so excited for you. this sounds like a great opportunity. i loved working outside of the church...when i worked in seminary at the antique store, i met so many interesting people who challenged my beliefs, and blessed me all at the same time. you are strong, creative, and i think you will find that you enjoy meeting people outside of the normal "christian bubble." praying for you!!!
