Well y'all....shoot.

I got up early this morning and stood in line at the teacher job fair in Dallas. I was one of the first ones in the door and happily recieved my world cell phone holder as my door prize. (ha) I walked right up to the booth of my favorite elementary school - G Elementary. The principal wasn't there, but I waited for him and he recognized me. Good sign! He asked me to sit down and he started the interview. In class Mr. R told us that the principals will ask us questions to scare us away - try to be the devil's advocate if you will. He did that today, but I seem to have done very well. He told me he was very interested in me and said to come back in 30 minutes and he will make his decision. I got up with glee and called Keith and told him to start praying. He was really excited, too. I walked back to the G elementary booth so he could see I wasn't interested in any other schools but his. Terez, one of my art friends from class was in the very same line. I started talking to her and then she sat down in the chair to be interviewed. I was a little scared, but still hopeful.

Terez came walking up to me when it was over and said, "Girl, it's between you and me." The principal said, "Give me 5 minutes I need to think about this. And he did, and after 5 minutes he called me over and said he chose Terez because she had a little bit more experience than me. Shoot. Now after my first choice had been taken by the girl who sits next to me in class I had to go on and do other interviews. The other schools on my list were not there. Shoot. The other schools with art vacancies had very long lines or were in VERY south Dallas. Shoot. So reluctantly I gave my resume to 2 other schools and went on to class.

God called us to Prestonwood so that Keith could get experience as an intern there. His internship is over in August. Since there is a high percentage I may work in south Dallas, we've been talking about moving down there. God calls people to different places, but I never really thought I would be teaching in South Dallas. I had my heart set on teaching in a sweet little neighborhood school that is pretty. I haven't seen much that is pretty south of downtown Dallas. I guess God used this to show us His plan is better and that is what we need. Thanks for praying and please keep it up as I seek a place to work!!

I know you'll make a wonderful art teacher wherever God puts you.
